TurboClipboard for macOS
Search clipboard history, paste directly into your app with Return, protect sensitive clips automatically, and sync encrypted clips across your Apple devices.
Mac onboarding
Start with the palette and automatic history, then layer in Library, tags, smart folders, sync, and richer local capture when you need them.
Read setup stepsLaunch TurboClipboard once. First run opens the Welcome Tour automatically; after that, click the menu bar bolt or press Option-Space from anywhere. Change the hotkey in Settings -> Shortcuts.
Copy text, links, images, PDFs, or file references on your Mac. History fills automatically when automatic history is enabled.
Select a row and press Return to paste it straight into the app you were using. Command-Y previews, Command-O opens a URL or local file, and Command-K opens the full action panel.
Move reusable text into Library, add tags, pin favorites, and save smart folders from common searches.
Enable sync in Settings -> Sync when iCloud Keychain and iCloud Drive are on. Images remain local by default and require a per-image opt-in with an iCloud storage warning. File references, app objects, and sensitive clips never sync.

Press Return and TurboClipboard pastes the selected clip straight into the app you were using. Option-Return runs the other action, Shift-Return pastes as plain text, and holding Command reveals number keycaps for instant 1-9 paste.
Command-K opens a searchable action panel: paste variants, preview, smart actions, speak, save to Library, pin, delete, and Clear History or Library.
One-time codes, API keys, private keys, JWTs, and password-manager copies are detected on-device, concealed until you hover, kept off sync, and can auto-expire on a live countdown. The palette itself is hidden from screen recordings and shares.
Resize the palette and it remembers its size and position. Choose Remember last, Centered, or At pointer placement, and Comfortable or Compact row density.
Pinned library items, copied history, tags, saved smart folders, exact text and image duplicate rejection, Clear History on Quit/Sleep/Lock, bulk tagging, and quick actions stay organized without turning the clipboard into a document manager.
A sidebar layout with nine sections replaces the old tab strip, stays visible at any window size, and shows which settings sync versus stay on this Mac.
Choose System, Light, or Dark appearance from Settings. The palette, Settings window, and app surfaces follow the selection consistently.
Multi-select rows can be copied or saved as one merged clip, transformed with 16 built-in cleanup actions for JSON, URLs, Base64, whitespace, casing, and lines — or chained into named transform pipelines with their own global shortcuts and optional on-device AI steps — or spoken with built-in macOS speech.
RTF, HTML, images, file references, security-scoped bookmarks, and best-effort app-specific pasteboard objects keep their pasteback fidelity. Images stay on this Mac unless you explicitly opt in to encrypted sync for that row; TurboClipboard warns that image assets can use substantially more iCloud storage. File references and app objects stay local. Vision and PDFKit keep images, PDFs, and text-like files locally searchable.
Import TextExpander CSV/TSV, Alfred snippet exports, Raycast snippet JSON, plain text files, and local Maccy SQLite history. Snippets land in Library; imported history stays on this Mac.
Variables, built-in helpers, auto-generated forms, and live preview turn repeated text into reusable workflows.
Clips are categorized as you copy, text inside images and PDFs is read so you can search it, and long text is summarized on supported Macs. Transform pipelines can add Apple Intelligence steps — proofread, summarize, key points, and professional, friendly, or concise rewrites — and search finds clips by meaning. All of it runs on your Mac, with no AI account and nothing metered.
Your clips are encrypted on your Mac before they are ever stored or synced, and the key never leaves your Apple devices — so only your devices can read them. Password-manager copies and detected secrets are kept out of history entirely, and there is no Epistates server or analytics.
